Guernsey Arts, in partnership with Guernsey Museums and Guernsey Nature Commission, will host a series of wildlife workshops during the half term from 14 February to 22 February.
The workshops are designed to engage individuals of all ages and will centre around the Bailiwick Wildlife Photography Exhibition.
Throughout the week, the museum will be filled with a variety of trails, workshops, and interactive activities. Participants can explore marine themes through several creative workshops and self-led activities inspired by featured photographer Tim Harvey's work.
The schedule of activities features self-guided options such as watching a Bailiwick Wildlife video, exploring exhibitions with spotter sheets, and engaging in creative activities at activity tables.
Drop-in workshops will take place from Monday to Friday, featuring a range of educational and fun activities.
- On Monday, 16 February, Guernsey Arts will conduct an artist-led workshop inspired by Tim Harvey's photography.
- Tuesday, 17 February, will see a takeover by the Nature Commission, which will offer marine-themed craft sessions throughout the day along with sessions led by Angela Salmon that include story time at 11am and 3pm.
- Wednesday, 18 February, welcomes participants for a drop-in Wild Workshop hosted by Guernsey Museums, inviting attendees to discover more about nature.
- Another takeover by the Nature Commission occurs on Thursday, 19 February, offering similar activities as Tuesday.
- Finally, on Friday, 20 February, another artist-led workshop will be held by Guernsey Arts, this time inspired by the Bailiwick Wildlife Photography Exhibition entries.
"Guernsey Arts is thrilled to be providing fun and educational activities about the Bailiwick’s Environment this half term.
"This is all thanks to Mourant's support of the Bailiwick Wildlife Photography Exhibition.
"Teaming up with the Nature Commission and Guernsey Museums gives us the opportunity to provide a schedule of varied activities, all with a focus on our nature and environments. We look forward to welcoming curious and creative minds for a fun filled half term," said Jade Kershaw, Community & Public Realm Officer at Guernsey Arts.
All drop-in workshops, activities, and talks are available at no cost for Discovery Pass holders and standard admission prices apply for other attendees.
