The Vale Earth Fair Collective is inviting local charities, community groups and creatives to participate in an alien sculpture trail across the island to celebrate the event's 50th anniversary in 2026.
Participants of any skill level are encouraged to create alien sculptures of any size or shape using reused or environmentally friendly materials. The completed sculptures will be displayed at various locations around the island throughout the summer.
In October, the alien sculptures will be auctioned, with 50 per cent of proceeds going to Vale Earth Fair and 50 per cent to a charity of the maker's choice.
The Vale Earth Fair Collective has outlined several guidelines for participants. Sculptures must be made from reused, recycled or environmentally friendly materials and should be movable, avoiding excessively large creations. The aliens will be displayed at both indoor and outdoor locations across the island during the summer months.
Designs can take any form, though creators should consider the public nature of the display locations.
The initiative reflects the Vale Earth Fair's commitment to environmental sustainability whilst supporting local charitable causes through creative community engagement.
Anyone interested in participating or requiring further information should contact [email protected]. The organisers are also seeking locations to host the alien sculptures as part of the trail.
The Vale Earth Fair has been running for nearly five decades, establishing itself as a local event with environmental values at its core.
This year The Orb will be heading up the Castle Stage on Sunday 30 August.
Joining them will be The Dynamics (France), The Recks, TANTALE, The Honest Crooks, Edith’s Head, BENNY THE MOTH, To The Woods, SkySkrapers, Perchard’s Wall, Le Beaubo, Hieron, The Cor Damme Lars, Sacred Hearts and DJ Paul Loraine with many more to be announced soon.
