Vale Earth Fair is hosting a series of events in the lead-up to its 50th anniversary festival later this month, including a volunteers' reunion and two live music nights.
The festival organisers have invited past and present volunteers to a meet-up at Vale Castle on Monday 24 August at 6pm. The event aims to bring together members of the VEF Collective and volunteers from across the festival's five-decade history to share memories and stories.
Drinks will be provided at the gathering, which organisers hope will attract as many friends of the festival as possible. Those interested are encouraged to attend and spread the word among fellow former volunteers.
In addition to the reunion, Vale Earth Fair will hold its annual Warm-Up and Wind-Down gigs at the Yacht on Saturday 29 August and Monday 31 August. Both events will begin at 8pm and feature a mix of local performers alongside acts from Jersey and the UK.
The Warm-Up on Saturday will showcase Jersey band Hammermaid and metal act Monolith. The Wind-Down on Monday will feature Its Own Animal, who recently released a new single, VEF regular Grant Sharkey, and UK-based act Le Beaubo.
Both gigs are free of charge and are designed to support the local music scene whilst extending the festival experience across the bank holiday weekend.
Tickets remain on sale for the main festival, which takes place on Sunday 30 August. The event will feature six stages hosting performers from the local area, Jersey, the UK and France in celebration of the festival's 50-year milestone.
The full line-up and ticket information are available on the Vale Earth Fair website.
