This year's Twilight Cinema event, held at Castle Cornet, attracted more than 2,000 attendees, marking another successful year for the summer programme.

The event ran over ten days, and approximately 85% of the tickets were sold. Highlights included ten sold-out showings, with family-friendly films and classic options enjoying significant popularity.

The format of the programme remained consistent with last year’s schedule, featuring an early showing at 5pm tailored for families, followed by adult films at 7pm.

Among the family-friendly movies, ‘A Minecraft Movie’ and ‘Encanto’ were especially well-received, selling out shortly after tickets went on sale.

Classic films such as ‘Shrek’, ‘Madagascar’, and ‘School of Rock’ also reached full capacity during their showings.

The 7pm slots were equally appealing, with ‘Bridget Jones: Mad About The Boy’ emerging as a standout favourite.

Other popular screenings included ‘Gladiator’, ‘Top Gun’, and the opening night showing of ‘The Breakfast Club’, all of which were sold out.

Helen Glencross, Head of Heritage Services, said: “Our team was delighted to welcome more than 2,000 people through the Castle gates for this year’s Twilight Cinema.

"It has become a much-loved highlight in the Guernsey summer calendar, and this year’s event felt like the best yet.”

She added that the weather, sunsets, and relaxed atmosphere at Castle Cornet contributed significantly to the event’s success.

She encouraged attendees to return to the castle before the end of the season to enjoy other activities, including tours and children’s trails.

Twilight Cinema will return in August 2026, with specific dates set to be announced by spring.
