Proposals announced for April by-election

Cesspit Operations Moving to Guernsey Water in 2026
  • Guernsey Water will fully integrate the cesspit service by 2026.
  • Customer service, billing, scheduling, and tanker operations will be managed by Guernsey Water.
  • The change aims to enhance reliability and efficiency in the cesspit service.
  • Updates and improvements include a new scheduling system and investment in new tankers.
  • Customers can register for the MyCesspit Portal for better service management.
Booking boost for Guernsey as ferry reservations a third higher than in 2025

• Brittany Ferries reports a 33% increase in forward bookings for UK-Guernsey and France-Guernsey compared to 2025.

• A total of 60,880 passengers booked for travel to October 2026, up from 45,713 in the same period in 2025.

• Brittany Ferries' market share for sea travel to the Islands has reached 48% as of December 2025.

• Continued growth reflects improved connectivity and consumer confidence after the operator’s contract with the States began.

• Chief Executive Christophe Mathieu highlighted effective marketing activities as a contributor to the positive results.
