- The decision was made unanimously during a recent Committee meeting.
- This change provides the owner with more flexibility “while safeguarding the site's heritage”.
- The DPA is reviewing the current practices for ad hoc listings of buildings and monuments.
Le Tocq’s resignation goes to the States after admitting indecent child image charges

- Jonathan Le Tocq’s resignation as a deputy is on the States agenda for next week.
- On 4 December he admitted 15 counts relating to the making, sending, or possessing a minimum of more than 2,400 indecent images of children.
- His resignation letter, dated the same day, was sent to the presiding officer of the States, and the formal process of accepting it through a vote in the Assembly will take place on Wednesday 17 December.
Planners back major Mallard residential development, now its up to the politicians

- Officials have recommended outline planning application is granted for the Mallard site and adjoining field, aiming to provide 85 residential units.
- Development includes a mix of affordable housing and private market homes.
- New vehicle accesses and reconfiguration of parking areas will be part of the project.
- Open Planning Meeting scheduled for 15 December to make the final decision.
Brock University discontinues scholarship for local students

- Brock University has discontinued its annual scholarship for students from the islands.

Register your private water supply for a free water quality test and pollution alerts

- The Office of Environmental Health and Pollution Regulation and Guernsey Water offer a free annual water quality test for private water supplies.
- Registering for the test allows for inclusion in a broader water catchment database.
- Notifications regarding potential pollution incidents will be sent to registered users.
- Tests assess parameters relevant to the safety of privately supplied drinking water.

Blue plaque to honour artist David Robilliard

- David Robilliard, an acclaimed artist and poet, will be commemorated with a Blue Plaque on 13th December.
- A reception will take place at Guernsey Museum following the unveiling at Clifton Steps.
- An exhibition, “David Robilliard: Welcome to the Friendly Isle,” is ongoing until 31st December.

Key population and economic data in Guernsey still not available with no firm date for when it will be

- A calendar of national statistics publication dates for 2026 has been confirmed.
- IT infrastructure challenges within the Revenue Service continue to mean key data is not available
- Certain reports - including on employment, population and economic growth - will not appear in 2026 until this is resolved.
- The 2025 Facts and Figures booklet will be printed and distributed soon, with last year’s data serving as the most recent information available in some cases.
Deputy Gavin St Pier and his wife arrested on suspicion of harassment

- Deputy Gavin St Pier and his wife Jane were arrested on suspicion of harassment on Wednesday 3 December.
- He described it as a “shocking allegation” which they “completely refute”.
- Deputy St Pier has led a public campaign spanning more than three years over how families are treated by the heath services. His own concerns date back to 2015.
- Couple interviewed under caution and released without charge.
- Policy & Resources Committee to discuss its response.
Guernsey attends 44th British-Irish Council Summit, ready to host next year
- Deputy Lindsay de Sausmarez represented Guernsey at the 44th British-Irish Council Summit.
- This marked her first attendance as President of the Policy & Resources Committee.
- The Summit discussed political developments and the creative industries across member administrations.
- It was hosted in the Vale of Glamorgan by the Welsh Government.
- Guernsey will host the Summit next year.
