  • The MSG chair, Dr Steve Evans, calls for respect for the Standards Commissioner's conclusion regarding Deputy St Pier’s conduct.
  • Deputy St Pier allegedly breached six sections of the Code of Conduct and has been recommended for a 25-day suspension.
  • Dr Evans notes ongoing negative effects from Deputy St Pier's actions on Dr Bohin's reputation and public trust in healthcare.
  • Allegations against Dr Bohin have been deemed unfounded, with no upheld complaints in relation to her clinical practice.

Islander lifeboat grounds in St Peter Port Harbour while on routine exercise
  • One of the lifeboats of MV Islander grounded due to mechanical failure during a training exercise.
  • The incident occurred at approximately 05:00 on 17 November.
  • No injuries or pollution were reported.
  • Recovery efforts included the Harbour workboat Sarnia successfully refloating the lifeboat by 06:30.
  • MV Islander left St Peter Port harbour three hours later than scheduled.
Housing supply strong, but delivery of affordable units and small homes lags strategic targets
  • The island's total housing supply capacity currently provides an estimated 8.6 to 10.6 years of supply, well exceeding the minimum five-year requirement, latest figures show.
  • The overall 'pipeline' of housing permissions (granted or under construction) consistently surpassed the minimum 2-year requirement of 536–654 dwellings.
  • The Affordable Housing portion of the pipeline, however, reached only 84 dwellings in Q2 and Q3 2025, falling substantially short of its minimum 2-year indicator target of 243–296 units.
  • The actual net change in residential units created annually has fallen below the States Strategic Housing Indicator, with 72 dwellings completed in 2024 compared to the required annual range of 268–327 new dwellings.
  • A concerning trend shows that permissions granted in 2022 are lapsing at an increasing rate, with 11 full planning permissions (25 dwellings) having expired by the end of Q3 2025 because development had not commenced.
St Peter Port prepares for Christmas lights switch-on

A second collection of Richard Graham’s parliamentary sketches is released this month
  • The new book, titled You Couldn’t Make It Up Again!, features political sketches and caricatures.
  • It covers recent States Meetings and the General Election events from last year.
  • Illustrations by Ross Le Brun accompany the sketches, enhancing the light-hearted commentary on Guernsey politics.
  • Proceeds from the book will benefit the Guernsey Motor Neurone charity.
  • The book will be available in various local shops and online starting 19 November.
Skipton Swimarathon raises nearly £70,000 for local causes
  • The 2025 Skipton Swimarathon raised £68,500 for local charities.
