The Weekly Briefing from The Quarry
All the latest from The Quarry newsroom.

From the editor's desk
Last week saw The Quarry out of our comfort zone.
Standing up in front of a room of people to outline our vision over two sessions was somewhat daunting, but the engagement and feedback was insightful, invaluable and invigorating.
Thank you to everyone that attended, you'll see already that some of the suggestions have been taken on board and enacted, others will percolate for a little longer but the result will be better and more impactful reporting.
For those that couldn't make it, do not despair, you can watch the lunchtime presentation below.
In the podcast studio this week we welcomed Philip Smith, the coach taking Guernsey's U19 cricketers to Scotland to compete for a spot in their age-group World Cup. We're always interested in the intersection between sport and developing skills and abilities that translate into wider life. This is an incredible opportunity.
In the coming weeks we'll be exploring Guernsey's independent film sector, taking a deeper looking at social prescribing and at our banking sector. We're striving to bring insights in every aspect of life in the island.
As always, if you like what we’re doing and setting out to achieve with The Quarry, please spread the word among your friends, family and colleagues. We want to make this a real community effort and can only do that with your help!
