Guernsey Mind's annual Sunrise Walk of Hope will return on Sunday 21 June 2026, with local sponsor Gower supporting the event designed to raise awareness around suicide and support those affected by loss.
The 6km walk will begin at 4am from Vale Castle to coincide with the summer solstice – the longest day of the year in terms of sunlight hours. Participants will follow a gentle route along the island's east coast before finishing at the Bathing Pools, where refreshments will be provided.
The event is open to all ages and abilities, with organisers emphasising that it is not a race but rather a shared space for individuals, families and friends to walk at their own pace whilst remembering loved ones.
Hannah Hurley at Gower said: "We are incredibly proud to support the Sunrise Walk of Hope once again. This is a powerful and important event for our community. One that brings people together to reflect, remember and support one another. Raising awareness around suicide and mental health has never been more important, and we're honoured to stand alongside Guernsey Mind in helping to continue that conversation."
Amanda Hibbs at Guernsey Mind added: "The Sunrise Walk of Hope is a deeply meaningful event for so many in our community. Seeing people come together at such an early hour, united in reflection and support, is incredibly powerful. Every step taken helps raise awareness and enables us to continue providing essential support to those affected by suicide."
Refreshments at the end of the walk will be provided by Vive La Vallette and Guernsey Guides.
Registration is now open at £10 per person through the Race Nation website.
