The States has formalised a five-year agreement with Apogee, an HP Company, to supply IT hardware to the public sector, effective from August.
It follows the termination of the previous contract with Agilisys, marking a new approach as part of the government’s strategy to implement a multi-vendor model for its IT services.
Apogee will provide a variety of IT equipment suitable for various public sector users and introduce IT lifecycle services designed to modernise device offerings and improve user experience.
The contract also includes onsite support to facilitate quick assessment of faults and replacement of devices when necessary.
Gé Drossaert, States Chief Digital and Information Officer, said: “Apogee is a supplier with extensive experience working alongside public sector organisations and comes with the benefits of a global supplier in HP." He added that the contract will allow for the modernisation of about 3,000 laptops.
This contract has been structured to ensure ongoing cost and technology certainty throughout its duration, presenting opportunities for potential cost reductions due to a more organised approach to hardware security and monitoring.
Drossaert noted, “The Service Level Agreement we have signed will ensure that our users’ experience and efficient operation is prioritised, and we will be able to be responsive to future demand.”
Carl Day, Chief Sales Officer at Apogee, said: “We are delighted and extremely proud to have been selected by the States to help modernise the user experience across government services."
He emphasised the company's commitment to delivering secure and scalable IT services, with an aim to enhance productivity and efficiency.
