This is the second round of small grants applications in 2026\. Unlike the first round, which was exclusively for applications related to arts, culture, heritage and sport, this new round is open to organisations from all sectors. Since the programme launched in 2021, 165 small grants have been awarded, totalling over £1.5 million. Applications are open to registered charities or non-profit organisations operating within or to benefit the Bailiwick of Guernsey. Applications should be focused on people in the community, on the services and support they need, or be of benefit to the community. Under the programme, organisations can apply for a grant of up to £15,000 to put towards one-off projects, capital expenses, or running costs of up to a year's duration. Applications for salary costs within specific projects, usually of up to one year's duration, will be considered. Any other salary costs may be considered on an exceptional basis for no more than one year. Applications must support one of the following outcomes: improving the lives of people with specific needs, disadvantages or vulnerabilities; employment, education or training opportunities; the protection of the natural environment, culture and heritage; improved health and wellbeing for the community; or an inclusive community which challenges the barriers causing disadvantage or discrimination. In the last round of small grants earlier in 2026, over 25 charities received a total of around £160,000 related to arts, culture, heritage and sport. La Société Guernesiaise Conservation Herd were awarded £10,000 to establish a small starter group of Royal Golden Guernsey Goats to join the conservation herd. The Priaulx Library received £15,000 towards the digitalisation of historic local newspapers. Little Quilts, Big Hugs were awarded £800 towards costs for quilting supplies and Guernsey Volleyball Association received £3,384 towards sporting and community event equipment. Steve Sharman, Chair of the Social Investment Fund, said: "SIF welcomes applications from charities working in any sector across the Bailiwick that are contributing to making people's lives better. SIF supports a wide range of beneficiaries and causes, including disadvantaged groups, culture and the arts, the environment, education and health and wellbeing."
