The 2025 Skipton Swimarathon has concluded with a fundraising total of £68,500, exceeding last year's amount.

The event, which took place from 8 to 12 October at Beau Sejour, attracted over 1,700 swimmers, volunteers, and supporters.

John Stuart, Chairman of the Skipton Swimarathon Organising Committee, said: “We’re absolutely thrilled with this year’s result. Every swimmer, sponsor and supporter played a part in helping us exceed last year’s total.

"The energy and enthusiasm throughout the week was incredible, and it’s a testament to the community spirit that defines the Swimarathon.”

The funds raised will primarily benefit St John Guernsey LBG.

Heather Langlois, Chief Executive Officer of St John Guernsey, said: “This funding will help us expand our first aid education, youth programmes and community services across the island.

"We’re so grateful to everyone who swam, donated or volunteered. Your support helps us save lives and care for our community.”

Charlotte Dunsterville, Chief Commercial Officer at Skipton International, described the success of the event as a “phenomenal achievement.”

She highlighted the unifying nature of the Swimarathon, emphasizing that it provides a fun, inclusive, and meaningful experience for the community.

The upcoming 2026 event will mark a significant milestone as the 50th Skipton Swimarathon.

Organisers are already in the planning stages to ensure this anniversary event will be the largest to date, with expectations of attracting more teams, swimmers, and expanded fundraising activities.
