The Policy & Resources Committee will host a second livestreamed video Q&A event on the States of Guernsey's Facebook page to answer questions from the community about its tax reform proposals.

Deputies Lindsay de Sausmarez, Charles Parkinson and Steve Falla will host the event on Tuesday 7th July, which takes place between 7pm and 8.30pm and follows on from a previous Facebook livestream on Sunday 14th June.

Questions can be submitted ahead of and during the livestream via the comments section of the feed, and islanders are encouraged to 'like' the questions they want to be asked to help prioritise which are answered.

Watch the first livestream.

For anyone unable to watch live, the full recording will be published on www.gov.gg/taxreform after it has finished. More information about the 2026 Tax Reform Package is also available on that webpage, including the full recording of the first livestreamed Q&A and the tax calculator.

Deputy de Sausmarez said: "Since our previous event, we've continued to see and receive a wide range of questions about the 2026 Tax Reform Package, and we've also published the tax calculator which helps people understand how the proposals will affect them in their own specific circumstances."

Deputy Parkinson said: "Given the importance of the topic, we are understandably receiving daily approaches from members of the community seeking clarification about our proposals, or in some cases expressing concerns based on misinformation circulating online.

"On a personal level, I have also received many questions about why I am able to support this package of measures, having been a vocal critic of the previous GST Plus package. I'm looking forward to being able to explain to hopefully a wider audience and respond to as many questions as possible in a public and transparent way, prior to the States debate the following week."

Deputy Falla said: "The level of community engagement on these proposals has been great to see, as not a day passes without discussion happening online and elsewhere."

Separately, members of the Policy & Resources Committee will attend a public meeting hosted by the Castel Douzaine on Saturday 11th July, to offer a short presentation on its tax reform proposals and answer questions from the audience.

The public meeting will be held at 10am on Saturday 11th July at Les Beaucamps High School. It is open to all islanders.
