  • The next walk is scheduled for June 2027, alongside a celebration of 25 years since the charity's founding.

The Pink Ladies Breast Cancer Charity has reported that the 2025 Sunset Walk successfully raised over £25,000, with donations continuing to increase.

The walk took place on Saturday 28th June, featuring over 1,500 participants who donned vibrant pink attire. The registered participants included 491 who joined on the day of the event, and 900 registered in the final weeks leading up to it.

Naomi Leach, Chair of the charity, said: "We couldn’t have asked for a better outcome. This year’s walk beat the numbers registered and the amount raised compared to the last walk that took place in 2023. Our hearts are full." She also expressed gratitude for the community's involvement, emphasising the uplifting atmosphere during the event.

Approximately 70% of participants took the 10-mile route from Grandes Rocques to Town, while 30% chose the shorter 3.5-mile option starting at Bordeaux. Over 190 children participated, some as young as nine, who completed the full 10.5 miles.

The charity congratulated the top ten individual fundraisers:

- Sarah Arblaster - £485

- Olivia Venosa - £470

- Carrie-Anne Ingrouille - £400

- Tracey Cordingley - £355

- Tori-Lee Hibbins - £300

- Georgia Caine - £285

Furthermore, three groups were highlighted for their fundraising achievements:

All funds raised will directly support islanders affected by breast cancer, as well as initiatives aimed at raising awareness of the disease. The charity expressed thanks to participants, suppliers, and volunteers who contributed to the success of this year’s event.

The charity plans to hold the next Pink Ladies Sunset Walk in June 2027, with discussions already in place for potential enhancements to the event. They also look forward to a celebration in 2026, commemorating 25 years since the charity’s inception, and are seeking sponsors to support this milestone event.

Those wishing to contribute further can still access the online sponsorship platform, Race Nation, for any final donations. The Pink Ladies encourage donations to continue during this pivotal time for the community.
