The Guernsey Sports Commission has announced that nominations are now open for the 22nd annual Sporting Achievement Awards, which will take place in January.

Graham Chester, the Commission's Operations Director who chairs the judging panel, said the awards will celebrate a year of sporting success across various levels of competition.

'There's been lots of sporting action both domestically and on the national and international stage over the last year so there should be plenty of performances and achievements to celebrate,' said Graham Chester.

The awards recognise sporting excellence from grassroots to elite level. 'From those competing on the World stage to some of our young sports stars just starting out on their sporting careers, these awards celebrate the very best of local talent,' Graham Chester said.

He encouraged all local sporting organisations to submit nominations for the 12 different award categories. 'This is a fantastic opportunity for all sports to put forward their top teams, coaches or individuals for one of the awards and I would encourage all local sporting organisations to get nominating.'

Graham Chester said the event would showcase the island's sporting talent. 'We want the evening to be a real celebration of the breadth and depth of sport here in Guernsey and share some of the stories around the top performances of the last 12 months.'

Nominations must be submitted by Monday 7th December. The criteria for each award and an online nomination form are available on the Commission's [website](https://guernseysports.com/programmes/sporting-achievement-awards/?ref=thequarry.media).

The awards ceremony will be held on Thursday 7th January 2027 in the David Ferguson Hall at Beau Sejour, starting at 6.30pm. Guest speakers and presenters will be announced closer to the date.
