Castle Cornet will once again host Twilight Cinema next month, with 20 films scheduled across 10 days from 6th to 15th August.

The popular outdoor cinema event will feature two screenings daily: a family-friendly film at 5pm followed by an adult-oriented showing at 7pm. All screenings will take place on the castle's top lawn, offering views over St Peter Port.

The programme spans multiple genres, including action, adventure and romantic comedies, with films suitable for various age groups. Notable inclusions are Ghostbusters (1984), The Mummy (1999) and Clueless (1995) for evening audiences, alongside family favourites such as Aladdin (1992), Madagascar (2005) and The Secret Life of Pets (2016) for earlier showings.

Tickets are priced at £6 for children's films and £7 for the 7pm screenings. All tickets must be purchased in advance through guernseytickets.gg, with no sales available at the gate. Children under 16 must be accompanied by an adult.

Attendees are welcome to bring picnics and are encouraged to bring blankets or rugs to sit on, along with warm clothing for later screenings. Chairs are permitted but must be placed at the back of the lawn to avoid obstructing views.

Gates will open 30 minutes before each film. As some 5pm screenings run until 6.45pm, those attending the 7pm showing are asked to allow earlier audiences to exit before entering the lawn.

Helen Glencross, Head of Heritage Services, said: "Guernsey Museums is delighted to welcome Twilight Cinema back to Castle Cornet again this year. It has become a much-loved part of the summer calendar, offering a special opportunity to experience the castle after hours. Set against the iconic backdrop with spectacular views, it creates a truly magical evening to enjoy with friends and family. Early booking is highly recommended."

The festival opens on Thursday 6th August with Happy Feet (2006) at 5pm and From Dusk Til Dawn (1996) at 7pm. It concludes on Saturday 15th August with The Secret Life of Pets (2016) and Clueless (1995).

Other highlights include recent releases such as If (2024) and Zootropolis 2 (2025), alongside classic films spanning three decades of cinema.
