The Liberation Tea Tent will return to Crown Pier on 9 May.

It will operate from 11am to 5pm, offering islanders a quieter space to relax with tea and freshly baked treats during Liberation Day celebrations. All proceeds will go to GROW.

The partnership sees GROW team members working alongside Old Government House Hotel chefs to prepare goods in the run-up to the event, providing valuable skills development opportunities.

"From baking 600 scones and 400 sausage rolls in the OGH kitchen, to helping run the tent on the day last year, the experience gave our team at GROW a fantastic opportunity to build skills, thrive in that environment and be part of something for the whole community," said Mandy Mackelworth, General Manager of GROW. "Seeing our team try new things and work alongside the OGH chefs made the experience incredibly rewarding for everyone involved."

Located on the arm of Crown Pier, the tea tent will be part of a wider family zone that includes a craft tent, face painting and hair braiding, chalk drawing, a toddler soft play area, rides and a skate ramp.

Andrew Chantrell, General Manager of the Old Government House Hotel, said: "Working with GROW has been an amazing experience. The tea tent is a fabulous opportunity to give back to the local community and provide a moment of calm among the day's activities, but also a chance to showcase local produce in all of the goods on sale."

The menu will feature sausage rolls, scones with jam and cream, a selection of cakes and Guernsey Gâche, with gluten-free options available. The tent will provide 150 seats for families and friends to gather away from the main crowds.

Kate Solway, Managing Director of sponsor Hedosophia, said: "The Liberation Day tea tent embodies everything the 9 May represents – community, collaboration and taking the time to come together. We're delighted to work with GROW again to create an experience that is memorable and enjoyable for all ages, which is exactly what makes Liberation Day so meaningful."
