Inclusive 6-a-side football team launching in Guernsey

An inclusive 6-a-side football team is set to be launched in Guernsey by the local LGBTQ+ charity, Liberate.
The initiative is part of a broader series of sporting and outdoor events named ‘OUT Active’.
To assess interest in the new team, an initial informal session will be hosted at La Mare playing fields on Thursday 14 August from 7pm to 8.30pm, aimed at people aged 18 and over.
Jack Ingrouille, a volunteer who proposed the concept, stated, “It’s an LGBTQ+ football club, but we welcome allies and anyone who feels like they would be most comfortable playing football in a fully inclusive environment.”
Having a background in the sport, Mx Ingrouille expressed a desire to create an inviting setting for those who may feel uneasy in traditional football atmospheres.
Mx Ingrouille said, “I want this club to be a place where people of all genders, all abilities, and all identities can come and play a sport they love in an environment that wholeheartedly embraces them.”
Following the initial session, weekly practice sessions are planned, with future aspirations to formally join the 6-a-side leisure leagues at the KGV.
“But you can absolutely just come along for our weekly social kick about sessions - there is no obligation to play in the league.”
The OUT Active events have received sponsorship from Co-Op and JT, with additional funding from the Saffery Rotary Walk 2025.
