The results for this year’s Year 13 cohorts were published on Thursday, revealing that the overall Bailiwick A*-E and IB equivalent pass rate is 98.3%, with 25.9% of entries achieving an A or A* grade.
Students in England recorded an A-Level pass rate of 97.4% and a proportion of 28.2% at the A* and A levels.
A comparison of the Bailiwick A-Level and equivalent pass rates over recent years illustrates stability. For 2019, the pass rate was 99.4%; in 2023 it dropped to 98.0%; and in 2024 it was at 98.4%, before reaching 98.3% in 2025.
This year’s cohort at the Sixth Form Centre, composed of 161 students, achieved a total of 432 subject passes across A-Level and IB qualifications.
The cohort saw an overall pass-rate of 96.6%, with 17.9% achieving A* or A grades.
The average grade among students at the Sixth Form Centre was Grade C. Many students completed additional qualifications, including AS Levels, Level 3 Core Mathematics, and the Extended Project Qualification, which focuses on research skills and academic writing.
This year’s results incorporate both A-Levels and IB Higher Level subject certificates, contributing to the overall results from the IB Diploma that students received in July.
The Technical and Vocational students at The Guernsey Institute also attained significant achievements. A detailed report of the Technical and Vocational results will be available shortly as adjustments in assessment declaration align with procedures in England.
Elizabeth Coffey, Executive Principal of the Secondary School Partnership, said: “Well done to everyone. A heartfelt thank you to everyone who has supported our students on their Sixth Form journey, and we look forward to hearing about their exciting plans for the future.”
Dr Louise Misselke, Principal of TGI College, said: “Our 2025 cohort has once again shown what’s possible through determination and resilience. Whether progressing into employment, higher education or further training - be that on island, in the UK or beyond - our students are stepping into their futures with confidence. We’re extremely proud of them and grateful to all the staff who have supported their journeys.”
Deputy Paul Montague, President for Education, Sport & Culture, reflected on the emotional nature of results day, noting, “After over thirty years of teaching, I know how much hard work, commitment, worry, relief and joy is wrapped up in results day. These Level 3 qualifications... aren’t just about exams, they’re about all the effort, challenges and successes that have brought students to this point. Today’s results reflect that dedication.”
He extended his congratulations to every student receiving results and acknowledged the support provided by teachers and families.
The Ladies’ College achieved a 100% pass rate with 91% A*-C and 41% A*-A. All students going to university were accepted to their choice, with others taking up work opportunities.
Daniele Harford-Fox, Principal at The Ladies’ College, said: “I’m so proud of every student whose A‑level results we’re celebrating. Results day in any school brings mixed emotions – we’re sad to see the students leave but we know they all have wonderful futures ahead of them.
“It’s important to note that whilst impressive, the girls are not just their examination performance. They are articulate, thoughtful, and authentic young women with a myriad of passions from students who are pursuing Engineering, Dance and International Relations to those going to Oxford and Cambridge.
“In a rapidly changing world, this generation is going to determine our direction of travel. They are stepping into an environment full of complexity and possibility. I feel confident that we are trusting our future to the hands of purposeful, articulate and principled young people. Their achievements today are just one step in a much bigger story and whatever path they choose, we are proud of who they’ve become and excited for what comes next.”
Blanchelande College celebrated a 100% A-level pass rate.
At Elizabeth College 78% of all grades were A* to C, 14% of results were A*. Three students achieved the highest grade in all four of their subjects.
