Guernsey Arts and the Guernsey Sports Commission have announced their participation in Angela Rippon's second annual "Let's Dance" campaign.

This initiative promotes dance as a medium to enhance both physical and mental wellbeing, while bringing communities together.

On 8th March, free dance taster sessions will be held at Les Beaucamps School from 10am to 2pm.

These sessions will offer a range of dance styles, including Bhangra and Traditional Guernsey Dance.

The event is designed to engage the community and encourage individuals to take part in dance regardless of their experience or ability.

The "Let's Dance" campaign, led by Angela Rippon CBE, focuses on raising awareness about the positive impacts of dance.

It seeks to address health challenges, reduce loneliness, and meet social needs through movement.

Jade Kershaw, Community & Public Realm Officer at Guernsey Arts, said: "This campaign is an excellent example of bringing creativity and active movement together to benefit overall wellbeing."

Nicky Will, Director of Communication for the Guernsey Sports Commission, highlighted the accessibility of dance, mentioning, "It’s a great way to meet new people, make social connections and have fun."
