The Overseas Aid & Development Commission has approved a £50,000 Disaster and Emergency Relief Award to support communities devastated by flash floods in Nepal.
The funding will be channelled through ShelterBox, which will provide emergency shelter and essential household items to families affected by the disaster.
Deputy Jennifer Strachan, President of the Commission, said: "Our thoughts and sympathies are with all those affected, and we recognise the immense human suffering and hardship being experienced by communities across the region."
She added: "As Nepal moves from the immediate rescue phase of this disaster into the next stage of humanitarian response, attention is turning to the urgent needs of families who have lost their homes, possessions and access to essential services."
ShelterBox has previously received emergency relief funding from the Commission for humanitarian crises around the world. The organisation also receives support through community partnerships with local Rotary clubs in Guernsey.
