Evening slot for Guernsey Air Display on Wednesday so more can watch

The first evening edition of the Guernsey Battle of Britain Air Display will take place on Wednesday.
Happening from 6.30pm to 8pm, this year’s event breaks away from the traditional day-time slot so more people can watch.
The Red Arrows and the Typhoon display aircraft are among the scheduled flights.
“The Red Arrows are stalwarts of the display and we’re so proud to have been able to secure the in-demand Typhoon jet. James Brown’s Hurricane will provide a fitting Battle of Britain element. Crowds will also be excited to see the Pitts Biplane return to this
year’s event with gravity defying aerobatics, before a fireworks conclusion by Airborne Pyrotechnics,” said Barry Neal, Flying Display Director.
A food village will open at the end of Crown Pier with local caterers The Guernsey Catering Company, Iwaris, Amchi Bus, Baan Thai, Ben’s Bar and Little Big Brew.
Seating will also be available there to watch the aircraft over St Peter Port.
The Typhoon PR trailer and RAF Recruitment Team will also be located at the end of the Crown Pier.
The end of the pier will be closed from 6pm on Tuesday 9 September, but the main car park will still be available for parking.
Boat owners in the QEII marina and harbour are also asked to familiarise themselves with the restricted zone in place for the display to ensure they have cleared the area by 6.25pm.
Drone operators are reminded that should any drones be flown anywhere in the Bailiwick, the display will have to be stopped.

Natalie Davidson, Event Organiser said: ‘The Guernsey Air Display has been enjoyed by thousands for over 60 years. By moving the display to the evening and having food and entertainment on offer, we are really excited for the whole community to come together to enjoy this fantastic spectacle.”
