Crimestoppers Guernsey has announced the launch of its 2025 Activity Challenge, with support from JT Community Giving.

This year’s initiative invites community members to engage in a variety of fun challenges, promoting physical activity and awareness for the Crimestoppers organisation.

The challenge will take place throughout July 2025. All participants will automatically be entered into a prize draw for cash prizes of £555 or £111, reflecting the encrypted Crimestoppers phone number, 0800 555 111, which ensures complete anonymity for callers.

Participants can choose to complete one of three challenge levels: bronze, silver, or gold. Each level is designed to encourage healthy movement and community bonding throughout the month. Following the success of last year’s challenge, winners Tanya Thoumine and Marina Burr are optimistic about greater involvement in 2025.

“The challenge motivated me to take on running, swimming, and cycling activities,” said Tanya Thoumine. She also mentioned the flexibility of options available for different fitness levels, highlighting that entry was straightforward and thus accessible to everyone.

Marina Burr, another participant, said: “I joined last year’s challenge for a summer fitness goal and to support a local initiative. I loved that even a simple activity like walking 1k qualifies for the ‘bronze’ level, making it inclusive for all. This year, I’m aiming for the 11k challenge by biking or walking. Plus, it’s free, so there’s no reason not to join.”

Mike Smith, Chairman of Crimestoppers is encouraging a broader spectrum of participants this year, including those engaged in other charitable activities, such as 30 Bays in 30 Days. He stated, “We’re calling on even more participants this year, including those already taking on other charity challenges... Winning could help boost their fundraising efforts or allow them to treat themselves to something once the challenge is over.”

The campaign encourages participants to share photos of their activities on social media to inspire others to set personal fitness goals.
