The conference will take place in Guernsey at the St Pierre Park Hotel on 14 October and in Jersey at the L’Horizon Beach Hotel on 15 October.
Conference host Sally Rochester, who is also a newly elected Deputy in Guernsey, said: “This conference is about practical inspiration. It’s not just ideas—we’re giving people the tools, frameworks, and connections they need to embed sustainability into their business DNA.”
Michelle Ryan, Jersey conference host and Chair of the Jersey Association of Sustainability Practitioners, commented, “We’re seeing growing momentum in the islands to take meaningful climate and social action. This event helps unify that movement across sectors.”
Headline sponsor Mourant, along with supporting sponsors including Hand Picked Hotels, Specsavers, Skipton International, TPA, and The International Stock Exchange (TISE), will present a day filled with keynote talks, workshops, and networking opportunities.
The conference features a world-class lineup of speakers. Notable sessions include “Forces Shaping Our World” with Munish Datta, who will discuss global trends and responses to the UN Sustainable Development Goals and circular economy principles.
Erinch Sahan from the Doughnut Economics Action Lab will present virtually on “Doughnut Economics for Business,” helping companies reimagine their purpose.
Lucy Siegle, a renowned climate journalist, will delve into how activism and innovation are reshaping consumer behaviour in “Ethical Consumerism Unplugged.”
Additionally, workshops like “Inner Development for Sustainable Leadership” led by Melissa Chester, and a fireside chat featuring Andrew Mitchell on nature and financial responsibility will be offered. The day will culminate with a panel discussion on practical sustainable leadership, where local sustainability leaders will share case studies and insights from their journeys.
Attendees will receive a complimentary copy of the book "Doughnut Economics," courtesy of Skipton International, along with a buffet lunch and access to a closing drinks reception for networking.
Mourant’s CEO Jonathan Rigby said: “We are delighted to sponsor the Sustainable Business Conference for the second year in a row. The inaugural events in 2024 were a tremendous success, attracting true pioneers in the sustainability field and sparking a host of insightful discussions on the actions we can take to foster innovation and best practices in sustainable business.”
The conference partners include the Institute of Directors (IoD) for both Guernsey and Jersey, the Guernsey Chamber of Commerce, and the Jersey Association of Sustainability Practitioners (JASP). Ryde will provide delegates with a discount on electric taxi bookings via their app.
