  • Alice Miller, aged 12, is undertaking a 100-day sea swimming challenge.
  • She has completed her first set of swims, each measuring at least 100 metres.
  • The challenge aims to raise funds for Guernsey Conservation Volunteers.
  • Participants are invited to join her swims at Cobo beach every Sunday at 4 pm.
  • Funds raised will support conservation efforts in Guernsey.

Twelve-year-old Alice Miller is currently participating in a 100-day sea swimming challenge to raise money for the Guernsey Conservation Volunteers.

On Sunday she completed her first 25 consecutive sea swims, each at least 100 metres in length.

Alice has been braving the chilly waters of the Guernsey Bathing Pools at La Vallette, where sea temperatures hover around 14 degrees.

“I wanted to really push myself this year and raise money for this charity which is doing such good things to protect our environment. I'm happy to have completed my first 25 swims and definitely enjoying the warmer weather.”

During the week, Alice swims solo, but on Sundays, she swims at Cobo beach, where she invites the public to join her in support of her challenge.

A fundraising page has been established for those wishing to support Alice and assist her in surpassing her fundraising target. T

Angela Salmon, Operations Director at GCV, said: “I’m thrilled to hear about Alice’s amazing swimming challenge to raise money for the Guernsey Conservation Volunteers. It’s a huge commitment to swim 100 metres every day for 100 days in all weathers, and I have great admiration for Alice as she will be a quarter of the way through her challenge on Sunday.”
